The Tiny News Collective is hosting a special application period for new and early stage local news and information projects serving Wichita, Kansas. We're looking for up to 3 organizations to help support.
Each information outlet selected will receive a $30,000 grant from the Wichita Foundation to jumpstart their independent news venture and two years of TNC membership.
Applications for the first cohort of information founders will open September 6, 2023 and close October 20.
The Info Challenge supports underrepresented voices in media to create a more inclusive news landscape. If you have a unique idea for informing the community, whether as a vlogger, podcaster, independent publisher, or something else, we want to help your information solution take off.
A news organization can be any group or person that collects, writes, and shares information through various platforms.
A journalist is someone who gathers and distributes news, often specializing in a specific area, aiming to provide accurate information.
We are looking for Info Challenge applicants who could see themselves as journalists/storytellers and champion their own news source.
