We are pleased to announce that the Tiny News Collective is hiring an operations director to help us realize our organizational mission of building a more equitable future for journalism.
Thanks to generous support from the Knight Foundation, the Hewlett Foundation and the Patrick J. McGovern Foundation, TNC is embarking on a new stage of growth, innovation and service to our members.
We’re beginning our search for this newly created role to help us build up our operations and internal capacity so that we can efficiently and effectively center and focus on the needs of our current and future members — the early-stage news founders who are reimagining and remaking journalism across the country.
We’re looking for a savvy systems thinker who wants to create and support the core infrastructure of TNC as we grow and respond to the need for more civically based news and information providers and community connectors. We want someone who can bring experience with nonprofit administration in operations, finance, human resources and fundraising to TNC as we move into this next phase of our development.
This role is a senior-level member of the team who will work closely with me and our membership director on strategy, planning and execution of our organizational goals. The operations director will also supervise the finance manager and our fiscal sponsorship program, a key service we provide to enable members and clients access to additional funding streams.
As our first operations director, this person will engage with our highly collaborative team to dream big about how we can help news founders accomplish their goal to serve their communities. It’s a special moment to join TNC, with the capacity to be deeply involved in helping shape TNC into the founder-focused and service-driven organization that is needed to address the unique challenges founders face.
